Our trip Day 11 written by Lissette ( about 40 yr. of age and housemother to the girls in Independent Living at Prince of Peace Home for Girls)
My name is Lissette and I have much gratitude to God in my heart for giving me the opportunity to accompany these girls on this trip to the United States of America. It is a great blessing in my life.
I am thankful first because to go up in an airplane was the first time for me. Second, to be able to visit Disney World and go on rides with the girls was something very special too and for a moment I felt just like one of them and young again.
Also, to see the Via Dolorosa in the depiction at the Holy Land Experience and to see Christ beaten and mocked was a very strong experience for me. This impacted my life and I shall never forget it.
It has been a very difficult for me because there is very little of English that I understand but I haven’t needed to understand the language to be able to see how good the people here have been to all of us. They have opened the doors of their homes to us and have prepared such good food for us and there have always been desserts at each meal. Also some of the people have driven long distances to see us and share together with us.
America is a very beautiful country with many beautiful things to see. And now I understand much more the great sacrifices that people such as Paul and Lana Sanders and Dr. Jim and Kay Hines have made for us. They have obeyed God and gone to a different country and learned a different language and separated themselves from their loved ones to serve Him. I say “thank you” for your obedience to be with us.
The girls and I have taken many photos that will be good reminders of this trip but in my heart I will always keep all that a camera cannot capture of this trip.
God bless each and every one of you who in one form or another have helped us make this trip a reality.
God willing, on December 3 at the end of this trip with the girls, I will travel to Los Angeles, California to visit my older brother whom I have not seen for 13 years.
God bless you all.
