Hello. My name is Cathy and I am 17 years old. I am going to tell you about my experiences on this trip.
I was staying in the home of one of my sponsors, Judy and Daniel Stewart. They decided to take me and 4 of my sisters to have some new experiences on this day.
We began by shopping for clothes and I bought shoes and a blouse and some pants and a hair iron. I have wanted a hair iron for a long time and now I have one! I have already used it and I love it!
The people at each shop were very nice and I especially liked it when they could speak to me in Spanish.
After eating lunch, we went to the home of Alex and Gracia Navarro to watch the movie “Encantada” or “Enchanted” (in English). I loved this movie and especially the place where we watched it because this family had sort of a theatre in their home. The chairs were very comfortable would fold open almost like a bed.
After the movie, we ate pizza. This was a very nice family and it was very special that they could speak Spanish with us.
A little bit later we went to a reception at Hope Community Church where we visited with different people who were interested in Prince of Peace and where all 13 of the Prince of Peace girls sang 3 songs together. I was very impressed with the love that these people showed us.
After the reception, we went home with Diane and Ed Topaleski where we visited a bit before retiring for the evening. We were going to travel the next day for 10 hours and needed to leave very early.
The US is very clean and big and I never imagined that I would be here. For me this is a dream come true!
